The aluminum core won’t rust like steel covers, and it flexes slightly under impact instead of cracking like fiberglass.
The panel edges feature reinforced hinge channels that distribute stress across the fold points. This construction lets you fold and unfold the cover hundreds of times without weakening the seams. UV inhibitors in the powder coat prevent the matte finish from chalking or fading, even in desert sun or coastal salt air.
Folding operation and bed access
The G2 divides into four hinged sections that fold against the cab in a compact stack, opening roughly 2/3 of your bed for tall cargo. You can stop at any fold position — leave one panel closed for partial coverage, or fold all four for maximum clearance. The hinge system uses stainless steel struts that hold each panel in place without prop rods or separate supports.

Yes, the G2 clamp system accommodates factory spray-in liners and most aftermarket spray coatings without modification. The adjustable clamps sit on top of the bed rails and compress the liner slightly when tightened. If your liner is thicker than 0.25 inches at the rail, you may need spacer shims, which we include in the installation kit for oversized liners.
Drop-in plastic liners also work as long as they don’t extend above the rail height. The cover sits on the rail itself, not on the liner sidewalls, so compatibility depends on your rail profile rather than liner brand.
We don’t recommend driving with panels in the upright folded position, as highway wind can stress the hinges and potentially damage the struts. The cover is designed to be either fully closed and latched or fully opened and secured against the cab with the included prop hardware.
If you need to haul something that requires partial bed access, fold the cover completely forward and use the cab prop to lock it in place. This configuration is safe for highway speeds and protects the panels from wind lift.
