The automatic latching system creates a compression seal at the tailgate and along each fold line. Water channels run the perimeter to divert rain away from the bed seam. In freeze-thaw testing, the hinges and latches cycled through 500 open-close repetitions without binding or requiring lubrication.
Folding access and load capacity
The tri-fold hinge design lets you open one, two, or all three panels depending on cargo height. A leaf spring mechanism holds each panel upright against the cab when fully opened, giving you the same clearance as a completely removed cover. The panels lock in place with rubber pads that grip the side rails, so you can secure a partial opening for mid-height loads.

The cover fits beds with or without bed liners, though you’ll use different clamp spacers depending on liner thickness. If you’re running a spray-in liner, the standard clamps work as-is. Drop-in liners require spacer shims included in the kit. The tailgate seal compresses to match tailgate variations, but aftermarket spoilers or caps may interfere with the rearmost panel’s closing angle.

Yes, the standard clamps accommodate spray-in liners without modification. The clamp hooks sit under the bed rail lip, and the adjustable bolts let you fine-tune the fit. For drop-in liners thicker than a quarter inch, use the included spacer shims to maintain proper rail alignment.
The FiberMax sits just over an inch above the bed rail when closed. Most truck beds retain 18 to 20 inches of interior height depending on your cab and bed configuration. When fully opened and propped against the cab, the cover takes up roughly 12 inches of bed length, leaving the remaining space completely clear.
The cover is designed for highway use when fully closed or fully open against the cab. We don’t recommend highway speeds with panels in intermediate positions, as wind lift can stress the hinges. For short drives at neighborhood speeds, locking one panel upright works fine.
It depends on the toolbox placement. The cover needs clearance along the bed rails where the side rails mount, so crossover toolboxes that sit behind the cab typically work. Side-mount toolboxes interfere with the rail clamps. Measure your toolbox footprint and compare it to the rail installation zone before ordering.
We back the FiberMax with a three-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. That includes the FRP panels, aluminum frame components, hinges, and latches. Normal wear items like the felt underside and rubber seals aren’t covered, but they’re available as replacement parts if needed.
